Responsibilities:
The retail management internship is a 10-week program that will teach the basics of the college bookstore industry and the fundamentals of retailing. Under the direction of experienced personnel, will perform duties in an assigned bookstore location. Selected student should be currently enrolled in the school where the bookstore operates. * May 14 - July 20, 2012 (10 week program) * Paid hourly, full-time (40 hours/week) * Must complete pre-employment background check process Specific Responsibilities:
* Participate in all projects and activities as assigned.
* Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
* Work effectively in a team environment while demonstrating the ability to work independently.
* Prepare and present a defined special project to all levels of management. Qualifications:
* Must be currently enrolled at a college or university where the bookstore operates
* Junior or senior standing, currently enrolled at the above mentioned university
* GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above
* All majors are welcome to apply; business related curriculum is preferred.
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to identify and solve problems
* Strong computer proficiencies in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point with the ability to efficiently learn new technologies
* Excellent customer service acumen
* Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
* Superior verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently
