The Manager, Marketing Research will lead and closely collaborate to identify the strategic business issues for the organization; complete Knowledge Inventory to identify learning gaps; develop Brand Learning Plan to prioritize issues and plans long term; Manage custom and syndicated marketing research projects through the supervision of assigned staff and/or external suppliers. Develop and use appropriate research to evaluate market conditions, customer and consumer dynamics, competition, market segmentation, brand equity, marketing programs, advertising/communication; Compile and analyze data on past sales and trends, incorporating survey results and anecdotal input from sales/marketing to provide market conditions and forecasts; Assess performance vs. business objectives (unit/dollar volume, market share, pricing, marketing/sales programs, advertising and promotional spending); Develop leading data indicators of future business performance; Keep informed about developments in the market as they impact on and apply to the organization's future business plans; Prepare and give presentations to management as related to market planning and analysis, brand MR updates and changing business environment.

Responsible to globally, manage a wide-variety of custom research projects, directly or through supervision of external suppliers specifically in support of strategic new product opportunities in partnership with Global Marketing and R&D teams. Other key responsibilities include: Develop and use appropriate research methodologies to research and evaluate new product performance, new product insights, competitive products and identify new methods (e.g., sensory) to evaluate product performance; Consult with research and development project leaders and clinical groups as well as marketing on product and consumer/doctor issues in order to identify opportunities and evaluate risks to the introduction of new products into the marketplace; Keep informed about developments in the scientific field as they impact and apply to the organization's future research and development of new products; Interpret and integrate research data, draw conclusions/implications and translate into product development recommendations; Prepare and give presentations to management as related to product performance, product claims and any product testing during new product development.

A minimum of a Bachelors degree is required. A Master's or MBA is preferred. A minimum of 5 years Marketing Research experience is required. Medical device experience is preferred. Healthcare experience and B2B experience is preferred. Strong Analytical and Qualitative skills are required. Ability to interpret and integrate research data, draw conclusions/implications and translate into business decision recommendations is required. Strong project management skills required. Use of statistical, multivariate and modeling analyses preferred. In-depth knowledge of research techniques used to assess concept/product/program, identify targets, evaluate advertising, and monitor brands' business are all required. Familiarity with use/analysis of syndicated data is required. Experience working with secondary data and running analytics on it to develop leading indicators about the health of the business is preferred. Extensive knowledge of MS Office applications is required. Ability to interact with a variety of suppliers and customers (marketing, sales, finance, information management) is requirred. International experience is preferred. This position requires up to 25% domestic and international travel.
